Knight, a native of Battle Creek, Michigan, USA, became the first hockey player to ever be drafted into the NHL from Battle Creek, when he was selected by the Boston Bruins with the 32nd pick in the second round of the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Knight has spent the last few seasons with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.
