Taylor was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in 2007 but after 3 years under the Caps watch, he would not be resigned and would become a free agent. But not for long, Taylor would be signed to a pro tryout contract with the Vancouver Canucks in the offseason of the 2008-09 season.
