Lane was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the second round of the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Philip scored 32 points for the Battalion during the 2009-10 campaign.

Stempniak was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues and spent the next few seasons with the Blues before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs. After only playing one and a half years with the blue and white, he was dealt to the Coyotes.
