Rodney, who went undrafted during his years of eligibility, was signed by the Carolina Hurricanes after what had been a very successful year with the Ontario Hockey League's, London Knights. During the 2009-10 season, Rodney had a stint with the big club in Carolina and the Hurricanes minor league squad, the Albany River Rats.
